Resources for Developing Curriculum and Teaching Materials

The curriculum for a good MTB-MLE program should be based on a thorough knowledge of the students and their communities; their values, their language, and their educational goals. The curriculum must also correspond to the national curriculum. The following are resources to help develop curriculum for a variety of mother tongue based programs, including MTB-MLE:

  • Developing teaching and learning Materials for MTB-MLE programs 
    This short guide provides guidelines and forms for the initial preparation stages of curriculum development.
     
  • Math Activity Pages-Early Primary Grades
    This updated edition of Math Activity Pages is a resource of activity pages for MLE educators who are preparing mother-tongue teaching materials for children in early primary grades. Individual pages can be selected and used as appropriate. The instructions and other text should be translated into the mother tongue.
